Afghanistan’s path to lasting peace depends on inclusive dialogue, trust, and accountable leadership. BEST promotes peacebuilding and good governance through community engagement, conflict resolution training, and civic participation programs that encourage transparency and cooperation among citizens and institutions.
Through peace councils, awareness campaigns, and training for local leaders and government officials, BEST helps communities resolve disputes peacefully and take part in shaping a more transparent, accountable future.
BEST facilitates dialogue and reconciliation through peace councils, community workshops, and advocacy campaigns, strengthens local leaders, CSOs, and government actors in peaceful dispute resolution and mediation, and trains civil servants in management, IT, and public administration to promote civic participation in local governance. Under the Support to Electoral Process (STEP) initiative, BEST ran awareness campaigns on electoral participation and citizens’ rights.
