Across Afghanistan, local organizations play a vital role in representing communities and driving positive change. BEST strengthens Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) through training, mentorship, and resource support—helping them become more transparent, effective, and community-driven.
Through workshops on project management, governance, and financial accountability, BEST helps CSOs improve their capacity to serve communities and advocate for good governance and human rights.
Since 2006, BEST has trained and mentored more than 60 Civil Society Organizations in project design, proposal writing, report writing, monitoring and evaluation, and financial management, alongside re-granting support for community-based initiatives and gender mainstreaming across the sector. Civil Society Support Centres (CSSCs) established in Ghazni, Logar, and Bamyan provinces serve as resource hubs for local organizations. BEST is a member of the Afghanistan Civil Society Coalition Against Corruption (AFCAC).
