BEST’s mobile health clinics in Kunar and Nuristan have transformed access to essential medical services in hard-to-reach mountainous areas. Services include maternal and newborn care (antenatal, postnatal, and safe delivery), immunization and child nutrition support, diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses, health awareness covering hygiene promotion and reproductive health education, and referral of complicated cases to district and provincial hospitals.
Health is one of BEST’s six thematic sectors, delivered through mobile outreach units and community-based approaches in response to growing humanitarian and public health needs.
