Education opens doors to opportunity and hope. Yet thousands of Afghan children—especially girls—remain out of school due to poverty and displacement. BEST is committed to changing this by expanding access to inclusive, community-based education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Through schools, accelerated learning programs, and teacher training, BEST helps children and youth gain the skills they need to build a brighter, more self-reliant future.
Since 2006, BEST has established hundreds of community-based schools and literacy centres and trained more than 3,000 teachers across Afghanistan. Our education portfolio spans formal and non-formal education, Accelerated Learning Programs that help out-of-school children re-enter the formal system, teacher training in modern pedagogy and child-centered learning, School Management Committees that strengthen community ownership, and the provision of textbooks, stationery, and classroom equipment.
