Two Decades of Service: BEST Publishes Its 2026 Organizational Profile
BEST is pleased to share its 2026 Organizational Profile, documenting two decades of development work across Afghanistan since the organization’s establishment in April 2006.
Registered with the Ministry of Economy under license #373, BEST has implemented more than 60 major projects across all 34 provinces, reaching over 250,000 direct beneficiaries including children, women, youth, internally displaced persons, and returnees.
Key achievements documented in the profile include the establishment of hundreds of community-based schools and literacy centres, training of more than 3,000 teachers, vocational training for over 2,000 youth and women, and capacity building support to more than 60 civil society organizations.
BEST’s work is made possible through enduring partnerships with UNHCR, UNDP, UNICEF, UN Women, UNIDO, UNOCHA, UNOPS, War Child Canada, GIZ, CARE International, Counterpart International, The Asia Foundation, and many other international and national partners.
The profile also sets out BEST’s strategic priorities for 2025–2030, focusing on education expansion and digital learning, economic empowerment, civil society strengthening, peacebuilding, gender equality, health systems strengthening, and green and resilient development.
